Paphos Local Area

The vibrant resort town of Paphos is at the centre the south west region of Cyprus which stretches from the birthplace of Aphrodite in the southeast to the small fishing port of Aghios Georgios in the west. 

Outside historic Paphos the area is rural and very picturesque with many ancient inland villages that sit on the the fragrant slopes of the Troodos Mountains or shelter in secluded river valleys preserving a way of life that has not changed for centuries. Below the mountains are the expansive salt flats and beautiful Mesaoria plain.

Paphos offers a balance of the ancient and modern, with all the attractions of sophisticated town with an abundance of archaeological treasures such as the Tomb of the Kings and Roman Mosaics. This area is now a designated World Heritage site.
