In recent years Cyprus has developed some of the best golfing, watersports and skiing facilities in Europe and can satisfy even the largest appetite for fun and leisure.
World Class Golf
Cyprus boasts three world class golfing complexes, which include new and resale properties for sale on this website. The fabulous facilities and superb all round climate has seen Cyprus become one of the best golfing destination in the world.
Tsada Golf Club was the first club in Cyprus and and offers incredible scenery. The par 72 course is situated 1,800 feet up in the Troodos Mountains and overlooking Paphos.
The Secret Valley Golf Club is surrounded by impressive rock formations and thick undergrowth which hides it from the Paphos to Limassol motorway. The par 71 course has a challenging 600 yard par 5 hole to negotiate before reaching the clubhouse.
Aphrodite Hills is the newest par 71 course constructed around a deep ravine. The course benefits from stunning sea views at every hole.
Skiing
Cyprus has a flourishing skiing industry based in the Troodos mountains. It is one of the only places where you can ski in the morning, sunbath on the beach in the afternoon and then go to a club in the evening! The ski season runs between January and April and the resort is around an hours drive from Paphos.
There is skiing for people of all abilities from gentle nursery slopes through to challenging runs as well as a selection of cross country tracks. Mount Olympus has four ski lifts and a choice of eight alpine ski runs.
Culture
Cyprus has an abundance of history and historical delights for the culture vulture. Near the centre of Paphos lies the Tomb of the Kings with their vast burial caves that are cut deep into the bedrock and decorated with columns and carvings. There are also some of the best examples of Roman mosaics to be found anywhere in Europe and Paphos itself is said to be the birthplace of Aphrodite - Goddess of Love.
Near Limassol you will find the 13th century Kolossi Castle which was occupied by the Knights of the Order of St. John during the time of the Crusades. In Limassol there is an extraordinary castle built by the Lusignans. It rests on the site of an earlier Byzantine castle which was host to the marriage of Richard the Lionheart in 1191.
