Cyprus benefits from a remarkably low crime rate, and from just one visit to the Island the visitor can understand why.
The pace of life in Cyprus is very leisurely and the people are kind, warm and helpful and ever ready with a smile. The Cypriots are a very hard working nation and extremely diligent, they take great pride in all that they do and have very high business ethics.
Life in the Towns and Villages
Cyprus towns combine modern and cosmopolitan atmosphere with ancient monuments and buildings. Traditional buildings nestle between well designed contemporary hotels and apartment blocks. The shopping areas are also a combination of quaint narrow cobbled streets and very modern shopping centres - it provides something for everyone.
Compared to the towns the life in the villages follows a much slower pace which reflects the small cottage industries and agricultural heritage. A common sight are the traditional stone built houses that can be seen in the mountains. These often feature beautiful vine shaped courtyards where olives are still pressed to this very day.
