Driving
Driving in Cyprus is a real pleasure, as there is virtually no traffic when compared to countries such as the UK. This means no traffic congestion, less pollution and less stress!
Like the UK the Cypriots drive on the left hand side of the road which makes the transition simple for Brits. Another similarity are the traffic signals as these are the same as the UK - in addition all the signs are in English which makes getting around the island very easy indeed.
The speed limits are 100 kmh on dual carriageways and motorways and 80 kmh on rural roads and 50 kmh in towns and built up areas. The road conditions are excellent in Cyprus, in particular the new motorways - however, watch your speed as there are always police with mobile speed cameras waiting for a speeding motorist!
