When you visit Cyprus it's not difficult to see why the crime rate is extremely low, especially compared to the UK and the rest of Europe. The laid back way of life, sunny climate and the genuine warmth and friendliness of the people combine to create a congenial atmosphere that has always been a central feature of Cypriot culture.
According to the latest figures from Interpol the crime rate in Cyprus is only at the rate of just 6% to that of the UK, 8% of Germany, 12% of Portugal and Spain, 5% of Sweden and 12% of Norway. This is one of the main reasons why so many British people are buying homes in Cyprus.
